Turn Signal issue

I have a 99 Jetta Wolfsburg that I just purchased.

I tested the turn signals at the car lot and it all worked fine. While I was driving it home I found the left turn signal works fine but the right turn signal acts the same as if I turn on the emergency flashers.

Any ideas would help!
