Hi, I just bought an 02 Blazer 4X4 LS that didn't come with fog lights as an option. I need to install aftermarket lights, but the only place I can see room to put them is behind the radiator grill.
A few questions: 1. Where does GM install them on this model? 2. If I put them behind the grill what is the easiest way to access this area without removing the radiator/condenser? 3. Will this location significantly restrict the air flow through the radiator? 4. Is there a special tool for removing the clips that hold the grill in place? 5. And lastly, does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for this vehicle? |

Re: 2002 4X4 Blazer fog light mounting location?
Go on ebay and find a stock airdam with the foglight holes.

dont put them behind the grill, because it wont look right, you need to get the factory vlance, which is what BlazerLt calls it, it has the holes already there, or you can get this piece off of any blazer, it is the plastic piece under the front bumper it is just modified.

Thanks for the info. Replacing the air dam seems like the way to go, however it looks like they use the holes where the recovery hooks go to mount the lights. I need to find one with four holes, 2 for the hooks and 2 for the lights. |

Instead of getting the valence, you could buy a small bumper guard and a set of aftermarket foglights. It will be easier than digging through the factory wiring, if the harness is even there. And even if it is, you won't have the switch. With an aftermarket set, you can mount a switch anywhere you choose. It' will be a bit easier, that's why I suggest it.

the factory did not put the fog light under the bumber on the 4wd. Instead the turn lamp is smaller and a fog light fits in there. I Installed the factory fog lights on my s-10, was not hard, just now have to program the bcm some how.

Re: 2002 4X4 Blazer fog light mounting location?
It looks like my best option is to install an aftermarket push bar to mount the lights on. I'm waiting for a factory service manual I've ordered from helminc.com for the wiring diagram. If there is anything in it about programing the bcm I'll let you know.
