Unhappy Overheating problem

My car seems to not like stop and go traffic very much. It is the only time the car starts to get really hot.

The Radiator is brand new, coolant level is full. If it sits and idles, it doesn't warm up that I have ever noticed.

its only when I am in stop and go traffic, it has never actually overheated on me yet, but its gotten to the red point, usually where i pull off the freeway for a good half hour.

If it gets really hot, and i start driving at at least 30mph it cools down, obviously.

But with brand new cooling system I can't understand what the problem could be.

My car sucks...

EDIT: I almost forgot, also when it gets hot, the RPM's like to sit at about 2000 RPM, unless I manually pull the gas pedal towards myself with my foot, then it drops down to about 800. But if i even touch the gas a little it goes back up to 2000.

Re: Overheating problem

You may have air trapped in the cooling system and check to see if your radiator fan is working. As for the fast idle try replacing the spring on the gas pedel and the throttle cable before anything else.
