Re: Stillen Downpipe

does the downpipe change the sound of my exuast significantly since it takes out 2 cats (gonna gut the rear precat)? i still have the stock one but will there be a noticible diffrence? i'm only 16 and don't wanna be pulled by a cop from my exuast.

Re: Stillen Downpipe

ever hear a harley davidson ride by? you don't see them being pulled over. you'll be fine, unless a dickhead cop finds you.

i asked a cop that one time, he sed that loud motorcycles are fine for safety reasons. I don't think i'll get pulled either, just wonderin if it will change my sound really

Re: Stillen Downpipe

then you can say that your car is loud for safety reasons too. When you are going 100 mph downtown you want people to hear you so they can get the hell out of the way !!

Re: Stillen Downpipe

the stillen with gutted rear cat does change the sound a bit, however not signaficantly, u got a more deeper rumble. faster sppol up though it doesnt hurt, here in US they dont care about epa standards, they care about not having a front license plate!!

Re: Stillen Downpipe

It really depends state to state and county to county....I got pulled over in my POS honda a few years ago at 2am doing the speed limit. They gave me a warning for my exhaust being too loud...and that was only a 2.5" catback and header(yes, I might have been a ricer), so you can't make that call because you don't know the cops in his area. But overall, I'd say do it and find out...it shouldn't make it too loud and you can always claim it's stock if they pull you over...a cop wont have a clue.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
