I seen a thing on horsepower tv about a 03 mustang cobra using a diablosport chip and some smaller pullys and they came out with a 72hp gain at the rear wheels!!! Is there a chip and pulley combo that even adds 40hp dor a 00' gt with a 4.6L???.....i finally got rid of that fbody and switched to a stang...i kno i kno its about time haha.

Before the tune I was running 14.6 in the 1/4 mile. After installing Steeda UDP, the Diablo, and fatter tires I got my ET down to 13.8. Most of the gain was due to tires because I had serious trouble getting traction before.

I am guessing the tune added 20 hp & torque on the low to mid range. For $399 bucks that's not bad but it doesn't work miracles.

The reason you see such amazing horsepower gains from only a pulley and a chip is the Cobra is supercharged. Smaller pulley = more boost. The GT is not supercharged so you can't up the boost by changing a pulley. You could try underdrive pulleys, but I'm not a fan of them, and don't expect them to give you anything even close to 72 + RWHP. Consider yourself VERY lucky if you got 10 rwhp from underdrive pulleys. Especially on the newer models like your 2000. The modular motors don't really care for underdrive pulleys. Ford already uses some pretty big pulleys on the car so going bigger won't do much for you. Also, on a GT at least, a chip is practically useless unless you have some major work done to the motor.

I saw that episode, and yes they were replacing the s/c pully. If you find one on your car, you might have a cobra emblem too .
