rear shock replacement

well...my driver's side rear is squatting. i believe i have a busted shock. when i approach inclines i can hear a very audible popping. there was some fluid on the lower part of the shock body and i could tell that the bottom leaf of the leaf springs was resting on the upper. i originally thought the spring was sagging until i noticed teh fluid on the shock. so i am getting a new set of rear shocks and i am sure this is a no brainer but what do i do to replace them. just unbolt them and put the new ones in?

Re: rear shock replacement

That's about all there is to shock replacement. Don't be suprised if you have a broken spring though, fried shocks won't usually cause the corner to sag.

Re: rear shock replacement

Ya,shocks themselves don't lift.Unless they are air or have preloads on them.

Re: rear shock replacement

Sag is not caused by shocks.

A bad spring probably blew the shock.

Don't install a new set of shocks on bad springs or they will be ruined just as fast.
