where can i get?......

welp, i finally got my car, i ended up getting an 2002 blue subaru wrx for 16500. USD.

i could have paid less for an allready beefed up car, but from what ive been told, when someone has a subaru beefed up to over 300hp, its a risky buy.

so this one is a stock, however its missing 2 things.

the letters on the back are missing (the guy removed them as some people do)

and the factory hood has been replaced with a carbon fiber hood.

now, i would like to know where i can get factory parts for a good price.

the letters ive seen kits for that say "impreza" instead of subaru and such, but if anyone can link me to a place that sells these 2 items, please post a link to them.

the carbon fiber hood is cool and all, but the rest of the car is stock, and it just seems a little out of place to have a carbon fiber hood on a completely stock car.

i may end up putting more carbon fiber on the car to better balance it out as i do like carbon fiber, but just for now, id like to know that there is a place i can buy a blue factory one should i decide to change my mind.

cool man, or www.xe.com works too.

sadly no hood on either site, however some nice add-on's are present.
kinda over priced though, heh, ill have to ask my local subaru dealer what they charge for one.
im not looking forward to it
but on the bright side of things, perhaps they will give me a reasonable price having a dealers license.

i thought about that, but it kinda ruins the point of having a carbon fiber hood, its kinda unique.

yes its lighter, and looks cool.
i figured i could sell it once i find out how much a factory hood costs.
and if it would be worth it.

cause i see these carbon fiber hoods for the $250 dollar range.

im not opposed to keeping the carbon fiber hood, it is kinda cool, but curiousoty wants to know how much the factory one costs

thank you for all your help.

while on the subject of parts, do you know where i can buy a wing like the STI one for a good price?

i dont mind if its a replica since im in no position to get a speeding ticket
however i feel the bigger wing balances out the car better. (visually)

Re: where can i get?......

Keep the carbon fiber hood. I think it looks pretty cool. An STi-style wing would be good, too. Just don't get a cheapo-looking aluminum park bench wing or an over-the-top wing. Stick with the STi-style one. I see you also have the "I" badge on the front instead of the "stars" badge, some upgraded (or at least different) wheels and tires, cleared corner markers, and some chrome in the grill. My two cents: paint the grill black, lower it (coilovers or Prodrive springs, don't just cut it down), get the STi wing, paint your calipers a dark blue (so they match, but they don't stand out from the car), and that thing will be sweet like candy. Oh, and from a guy that's spraypainted many a car part: spraypaint on non-essential, non-moving parts is excellent and cheap. Some high-heat Krylon on the brake calipers: $10. Some plastic-bond paint for the grill: $5. Some translucent silver model paint for the orange bulbs (so they glow orange, but don't show orange through the clear covers): $2. Cheap and effective.

thanks for the info SabreKhan.

the pic of the car was from the guy i got it from, im still waiting for the car to come in.

i was planning to get the STI wing, i honestly dont like those cheap honda civic looking wings that look thin.

i was either going to get the default STI wing, or the racing STI wing that has the carbon fiber top piece that is adjustable.

the grill i was hoping to replace with the default beehive type, wich i really liked, and get the black subaru with stars thing.

heh, this is mainly why i was hoping to find a good source for factory parts.

the wheels are custom 18 inch wheels, im not sure if that better or worse for the performance, but ive been accustomed to a bmw740iL that has 18 inch wheels, so im assuming its an upgrade to the 17 inch default (please correct me if im wrong)

www.subaruparts.com

Or the classifieds sections of the bigger subaru forums.

Stock wheels are 16's, 17's would probably be better performance wise

I had a local sticker shop make vinyl for my IMPREZA lettering on the back, in factory font and size, cost $5
