Explosion hazard

All GM engines with the Vortec fuel injection Spider have a flaw. GM has fuel lines for 3 and 5 cylnder crossing beneath and rubbing on the high pressure fuel line to the spider. In my case the flaw was discovered when replacing the spider and noticing the rub marks on the injector lines for these cylnders. Lifting the fuel pressure line resulted in a high stream of fuel in the face from a pin hole leak that had developed. An ignition source would fracture the fuel line, blow the plenum off and a fire would result. If this happened while driving, all brakes would be lost, no more vacuum! I recommend all cars with the Vortec engine be inspected before someone is killed.

Re: Explosion hazard

all brakes would not be lost, power brakes just make it easyer to push because its vacuum assisted, they still work without it, and theres allways the emergency brake. What does this have to do with website discussion though?
