Re: codes 12 ,43

code 12 is just to let you know that it is working, it will flash this code every time you check it, don't be concerned about that one. as for the 43, I don't have my book in front of me, but I'll find out if someone doesn't get to it before I get a chance.

Re: codes 12 ,43

Code 12 just means your diagnostic terminal is grounded and the engine isnt running.. Its normal for this to come on every time you run your codes..

Code 43 I do believe was the Electronic Spark control.. You've got a bad connection, or a break in one of the wires, or you just have a defective ESC module, a defective knock sensor can also throw code 43.. Your knock sensor should be on the lower right side of the engine block, right above the oil pan..
The module is on the firewall (I think) usually near the brake booster

Re: codes 12 ,43

What is the problem with the engine?? very poor sluggish performance is usually an indicator of a bad ESC..

A bad knock sensor will usually cause the engine to knock real bad under heavy engine load..
