changing the battery

hello,
i just changed my battery for my 1972 vw beetle, and i cant seem to get any power from the batter. the clock that came with the car wont work. am i doin something wrong. if someone can help me. i connected the wires right just not getting any power. please help

Re: changing the battery

Cleaned battery cable ends? Checked for good ground on negative cable? Also check wire that goes from battery to voltage regulator. Should have two wires on positive terminal, one to starter and one to regulator. The wire to the regulator feeds the ignition switch.
