Thumbs down 1995 Blazer (Starting Problems)

Just replaced Battery, Starter, Starter and Soleniod on my 1995 Blazer LS. The vehicle just had a major tune up (400.00) and ran like new for a week. Now it will not start, no dash lights prior to starting, engine cranks, also notice no (fuel prime) before attempting to start. Also, checked all fueses. *Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Check all fuses in the engine compartment and cab.

Also, check and replace the black ignition switch in the steering column.

Ah, wait, also, wiggle the pink wire under the steering column and see if the light come on.

I ran into a problem a couple weeks ago where mine wouldnt start, tune up led nowhere, ends up, the shaft on the distributor itself was worn out. 300 bucks more to rip out the distributor and presto, it runs.

true, that could be an option, but start at the smaller things first before you go big.

Unhappy Re: Re: 1995 Blazer will not start

Ok, checked all fuses in the driverside fuse center, all good. Next, couldn't locate any fuses in the engine compartment. Looking under the steering column and located a small black wiring link under the key tumbler. Is this the ignition switch?? Also, Haynes guide states remove the Air Bag system wire before disconnecting any other connections..Which is a pain in the "A" .

Should I find this pink wire before replacing the ignition switch??

Appreciate all the assistance//

Mike

Can you believe this, it has started after shaking a freakin pink wire...

Thanks alot for your insight. What preventive measure do I need to take to keep this from occuring.

Thanks A million

You are very welcome, it sucks that one small wire has this much of an effect on the truck.

Glad I could help.

Re: 1995 Blazer will not start

Trace the wire and resolder the connection that is loose or install a new ignition module.

Try the resolder first.
