terrible shaking

whenever i go from 1st gear to 2nd aome times the car starts shaking and jerking really bad and it also does sometimes going into third I usually have to let out of it and then get back on it and then it wont shake no more Just wandering if anyone else has had this problem mine is a 95 cavalier 2.2 5-Speed Thanks

could be alot of things, have the tourque converter looked at

you may have a contaminated clutch disc. The 1st-2nd shift is the hardest on these components and will cause a shudder. Do you have an oil leak in the engine??? The other cause of your symptoms is a worn out clutch/pressure plate. They will do the same thing when they're in need of replacement.
