Re: HELP:putty

One part is not chemically hardened. Two part has the material, and a catalyst.

The mixing ratio depends on the putty.

Re: HELP:putty

Which word don't you understand?

2 part putties consist of 2 parts which you mix to make the actual putty, 2 part putties set up harder and are better for shaping and forming.

One part putties are good for filling small imperfections and things, but when it comes to large pieces they have no real strength.

Re: HELP:putty

One part putty hardens by the evapolation of the solvent. When applied thick, the inner layer takes very long time to harden, and it also shrinks a lot, making it unsuitable for thick application like the body kit. However, solvent melts plastic and grabs (i.e. blend with) the surface very well, so it's meant to correct the manufacturing inperfections like sink marks, seam lines and gaps.

Two part putty hardens by chemical reaction, which allows you to build up as thick as you want, suitable for thick application like the body kit, but it takes much longer to harden, and doesn't grap the plastic surface very well.

Make sense?
