2000 grand am GT overheating

ok well i have changed two relays in the hood fuse box for this... The car is overheating.. what is happening is that the fans are not turning on.. I spliced into the wires and added current direct to them and they turn on... any suggestion what it can be...? also the heat sensor was also changed... People at a automotive shop siad it can have two sensors..? is this true..? also the car starts to heat up and you see the steam coming out form the resovir hose but the needle marks 210 or so.. but the fans are not trunign on neither... but it is heating up already... but still marking 210..?

there is another relay called fan "mode" relay... what is that?

please help...

fan mode turns on 1 or 2 fans when you turn on the ac. have the thermometer checked and if that doesnt work there are manual fan override harnes that plug in to the existing wire and let you have a switch which lets you turn the fans on indepenatly of the realys (or you can make your own)

if your car is a v-6, it has two coolant sensors, one for the fans/computer, and one for the guage. When you changed the sensor, did you bleed the air out of the system??? If not, then you may have air in your cooling sysem.

before the thermostant thing was changed it was already doing it... At the auto store they said it could be that.. the sensor.. the engine is a v6... where is the other sensor lacated... I found one right above where the hose plubs in to the engine... i followed the wire and it goes to a clip that the wire from there goes staright into the engine block.... so where the other sensor at? and the one by the upper raditor hose.. is that the one for the guages or fans/computer?
