I am just wondering with the 96-98 cavaliers how much hp can the normal bolt ons give you exhaust, headers, intake? IF possible could someone give me the amount gain from each one. Thank you.

Well, average for each of those is roughly:

CAI- 5 tops
Exhaust- headerback- 10-20, catback 10-15

Re: How much bolt on hp?

no its more 10-15HP for CAI and full exhaust including headers. That is if you have a Z24. If you have a 2.2L Expect more like 10HP max. ALl those mods work by airflow, the more air you engine flows the more power you will get out of them. With the 2.2L its so small mods like that dont do much of anything. If you have a 2.2L the best thing you can do for power is NO2 or turbo, i think hahna makes a turbo kit for your car and it will cost a lil bit more than all the mods listed.

Re: How much bolt on hp?

what 4 cylinders? was it the tyota 4 cylinder that makes 180HP? The 2.4L ecotct that makes 170HP? the 2.4L DOHC that makes 150HP? The 2.0 Ecotec that makes 140HP? the 2.2L that makes 115HP? that is a very broad range of engines. . .
