Question Wrangler 4X4 Problems

I just bought a 2001 jeep wrangler sport, and i took it off road the other day and just so happened that i got it stuck in the mudd..... i fought it all day long and finally got out, but im having problems putting it in 4 wheel drive for somereason.... and im waiting on a owners manual right now. When i put it in 4 wheel drive it says part time....well this was fine for some of the things i went through but i cant figure out how to get it in full time 4x4. I couldnt get un stuck b/c i only had 1 wheel on the front and 1 on the back that even had power going to them. Im kinda new to the jeep life so if anyone could help me out i would appreciate it

thanks

Re: Wrangler 4X4 Problems

part time is all you get. its a 231 t-case so there is no full time.but full time wouldnt have helped.fulltime means you can drive it all the time in 4wd without messing up your t-case.part time is only for when you actually need 4wd like in mud or snow.if you use part time on dry pavement its hard to turn and you will damage the t-case.the reason you had one wheel spinning in the front and one in the back is because you have open differentials on your jeep.you could always put lockers in your diffs.
