M3 won't turn off!!

I'm having a serious problem with my 97 M3. It wouldn't turn off and the key could slide out. I took out the fuel pump fuse to shut it off but now the ignition is stuck in the ON position and will not turn, any ideas??

Re: M3 won't turn off!!

Thanks Antiburn. I already took out the cable and ordered a new ignition but that will take 10 business days because they have to get it from Germany. Any idea where else I could the ignition from? And what other parts do I need? I don't know anything about ignitions so I'm having a dealer do it and it's taking too long!

Im not 100% sure that its the ignition, It could possibly be but you never know. You might want to take it to a dealer to get it looked at. Just tell them you dont want them to put anything new in, you just want to know whats wrong with it.
