PCV Price Difference

I just bought my 02 Rodeo V6 not long ago, and I went to order/buy a pcv valve and was kind of confused....Why do Autozone, Napa, etc. list the PCV valve for $4, and yet the dealer quoted me at $15. I think I have a screw in of some sort (honestly haven't looked at it yet). What is the deal with these? Can somebody shed some light on this for me...

Re: PCV Price Difference

Dealer markup. I just installed a clutch cable on my Jetta. $28 online, $75 from the dealer!

Hmmmm. It is a screw in type on my 2002 3.2L. I'd use caution with aftermarket PCV valves on these particular engines- being as sensative as they are. The OEM units seem to be put together well. I took mine out & cleaned it with intake cleaner @ around 20K miles. You should be able to suck air thru it, but not blow air thru it ( ). They are prolly good for 40-50K miles if you keep them clean.
G/luck
