Someone in Japan please help!!

To any listening ears......

I am about to buy a JDM H22A. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the H22A change between 96 and 97 here in the states? I was told that the 96 and 97 are the SAME in japan though? Can someone please help me out on this? Maybe call a honda over there and ask if they're the same or not?? I'd appreciate it A LOT!! Thanks.

Sorry, I guess I'm not too clear on that.
What I need to know is if the JDM H22A changed for model years 96 and 97. Thanks.
