Re: NC speed sensor .. flashing D4 indicator help!!

I dont know if the speed pulser is considered the same as the vehicle speed sensor, but I already put a new vehicle speed sensor in, which looks just like the pic in your reply, and I am still having the same problem.

The speed pulsar is located on top of the transmission on top of the “Speed Sensor” unit. Look in between the air intake near the throttle body and coolant hose into the intake manifold. There you will see below the speed pulser with the wire connector mounted on top of the speed sensor. Follow the pictures below. (A strong flashlight or other light will really help to locate it!)

Are you having transmission problems?

If you got a code 9 from the ecu that would be the No. 1 cylinder position sensor (cyl) whitch is located in the distributor.

ive had that same problem with the d4 light flashing. basically it would stay in fourth gear. what i did was turn the car off waiting a few seconds than turn it back on and it wouldnt flash no more.

so i had my radiator flushed and my tranny flushed as well and that fixed the problem. it hasnt flashed since than.

Question transmission d4 indication flashing

I dont know if this helps, but i seem to recall reading on a honda website somewhere that a flashing d4 indicator is a sign of a bad transmission?? I do know that the newer accord models indicate a failing transmission in this manner, but i am unsure if the older ones had this technology built into the transmission control computer. I could be wrong, Not an expert here.

Re: NC speed sensor .. flashing D4 indicator help!!

mnhsmatt is on to something, though on the top of my head i forgot but there is a way to diagnose the tranny computer...i forgot.

its on www.cb7tuner.com though, i remember someone had the problem, it can point to other things as well...sometimes just bad shift silinoids or worse.
