clunking noise - front upper strut mounts?
2000 Cav 4dr
There is a clunking noise that I am hearing coming from the passenger front side. I have heard this noise before and the dealer I believe changed the upper strut mounts (and maybe the struts - don’t' remember) this was about 2 yrs ago. I do not want to take it back to the dealer as they charged me way too much the first time. 1. Can these be lubricated or tightened? 2. If not can i change the mounts my self ? Thanks |

Re: clunking noise - front upper strut mounts?
have you checked your stabilizer pins?? It is a bolt with 4 rubber bushings going from the lower control arm to the stabilizer bar. they are only $4 per side and take nothing to replace. they will make a clunk similar to a strut mount when they break or the bushings wear out.
