How do you keep your engine clean

this is what i use.

-simple green
-lots of rags/clothes
-q-tips
-engine cleaner (foam ,the wet engine cleaner just makes the grese drip)
-tooth brush
-plastic bag's ( small / med )


first i cover the alternator and batt. with the plastic bags. you can take off your batt. if you want.
i spray some engine cleaner (foam) on the valve cover and the fire wall, let it sit for 5 - 10 mins. then use the rags too wipe the dirt off ( you'll need lots ) takes time ...but its worth it. after that spray simple green on the tooth brush and scrub on small areas , you can use the q-tip too . well thats how i get my engine so fresh n so clean.. lol , feel free to share your engine cleaning ideas.

and if you dont know what simple green is... its a cleaner that gets the job done. try the lemon sent , not only will your engine look good , it will smell good too

Gunk works well too. Clean while the engine is warm, not hot, but warm. Armor All all the plastic shit. Wax the painted areas. I painted my valve cover and usually just wipe it off with a rag. Never tried Simple Green. I'll look the next time I'm in the parts store.

dont armor all plastic man, if you dont keep up with it, itll start to crack. thats why i never armor all my interior. i just go over it with a damp rag

I didn't know that. Thanks. I usually detail the interior every month or when dust builds. Same with the engine bay. I'll start using a damp rag.

whenever you see an s13 with a cracked dash, you can tell the owner was an armor-all nut.

i think it only does that when its in alot of sunlight though...im not really 100% positive

also for the plastic trim in the engine bay, you can use armoral dash wipes for the nice glossy look.

Simple Green Is Good Stuff.... I Used To Do A 70/30 Miture And It'll Clean Everything. Its Also Non-toxic So You Could Drink The Stuff If You Wanted Too.

the armor all doesnt make it crack its the fucking gay ass sun!!!!! if you let your dash dry out it will crack. the armor all protects that shit. Once my dash started to crack i bagan to use it and no more cracks since, i just have 1. Of course my car is outside 24/7...gay parents wont let me take garage.

Without the Sun there would be no sunlight... no gravitational pull.... therefore without the Sun we would be freezing like the Planet Pluto and spinning out and around aimlessly... it would not be a fun planet to live on... and you wouldn't be able to enjoy your 240's.
