clutch question
Any d series clutch from 88-up will work with any d series motor right? And has anyone had any experience with xtd clutches and/or flywheels?

Re: clutch question
no, the 88's have a different number of spines, and the 88-89's are smaller than the 90-91's, get the clutch for the year you have, or else get the flywheel clutch and pressure plate for 90-91 if you want the larger surface area.

Re: clutch question
yea, 88 has 21 splines on the input shaft, while 89-00 have 20.
then the surface size is 88-89 are 200mm discs and 90-00 is 212mm.

Re: clutch question
alright thanks for your help, ill get an exedy clutch with an ACT flywheel then. But another question lol. If all clutches 89-00 are the same then why are some clutches specified to be used with say 92-95 or 96-00 civics? Is it just so that people will think its just for their cars?

I Will give you all the advice you need TAKE IS TO A PRO,
I replaced a clutch with a friend of mine on a front wheel dr. 98 mit. eclipse and he took out the tranny and messed up the alighnment and shifter forksn in the tranny, so i have to getn a new tranny, a whole lot of money! no junk yard has one either. |

Re: clutch question
i'm sorry but if you fuck up the shifter forks in a honda tranny just by pulling it off of the engine to swap out a clutch you shouldn't even be driving...
the only thing you really have to worry about on the honda is getting the spines of the tranny lined up with the clutch. and its 90-00 and yeah thats pretty much the idea... just make sure you get the stuff for a d series and you'll be good to go

Re: clutch question
thanks man.
I cant wait to get a new clutch lol, i was up in Garrisonville VA doing a special project remodeling the Lawn and Garden in the Walmart up there (i work at the Supercenter in Fredericksburg) and i was trying to start out on these hills and it was just slipping like crazy and now its startin to slip a little when i shift. But thanks for all your guys' help. And my friends work on cars all the time they are the pros lol. Theyve done 2 engine swaps so far and the 2nd one only took a day with no flaws.
