1,000 Mile break in !?!?!

Hi i am getting my 2004 tiburon Gt v6 within the next 4-5 days. It has 989 miles on it. My friend told me not to drive it hard til it hits 1,000 (only 11miles ...) but i was wondering if he was correct. Does an engine have to "break in"?? please help, thanks.

1200 miles is factory break in.

... jus be easy on it... if you wanna hit it hard... you gotta let the engine warm up... so drive around for awhile... and then ease on the gas...

AUuuhhh!! This is such a disapointing thing to hear lol i love to drive fast, i cant drive slow :-( especially for 211 miles :-(

I should drive to some far away city haha :-D

you can drive fast... but gotta be easy on how quick oyu push it... jus make sure the engine is nice and warm... really warm

I understand what u are saying. :-) thanks that helps. I just need to make sure when i let my brother drive it he doesnt f***ing floor it.
