Tail lights

Can anyone tell me how to change the tail light of a 2000 Ram pickup truck?

Re: Tail lights

You gotta drop the tailgate, and then you'll see a couple of torx screws I think, you take those out, and then the whole taillight assembly comes out. Very easy. You can have both off in probably 2 minutes or less.

I just changed the rear bulbs on my truck and when I went to pull one of the bulbs that I thought was burnt out, the bulb turned on. (I had the turn indicator on to check it) It seems as if the bulb is OK, but the wire on the end of the bulb is kind of flattened out or something. So it's not making a good contact. Has this happen to any of you guys? Is it common? I have no idea because this is the 1st time to replace any bulb since I bought the truck in 96. Just wondering if there's something wrong with the electrical.

Re: Tail lights

It might have just been squished against something when the truck was built, and years of driving and the inevitable vibration the driving causes; flattened the wire out.

It doesn't sound like anything is wrong, as long as it's working then all is well, right?
