Hub Nut rotation?

I have a 1999 2500 club cab long bed diesel 4x4 and the front discs are shot. I removed the wheel, and the cotter pin from the hub nut and tried to turn it off with an 18 inch long 3/4" drive breaker bar and socket...no luck. Add a 4 foot cheater bar and still...no luck. Are the hub nuts reverse threaded? Righty-tighty...Lefty-loosy or reversed?

Hello guess by now you got it done the threads are normal not reverse.
I just did my brakes and the right front drive axle looks to be leaking have you changed that before or have a detailed manual.
Thanks Carl

Re: Hub Nut rotation?

correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you need to remove the "hub nut" to change your break rotors.

Corrected.

You are hearby corrected. The difference is between a 1/2 ton and a 3/4 ton. I will take photos and post them if you like...not being a smartass, I bought the truck with 32,000 on it and it, the front end, may have been change but I doubt it.

Lonstarswap, thanks for the help! Yes I got them done and they were a pain in the @$$! I do have the same truck as you and I have learned in the past it is sometimes better to ask than to try to muscle it. Thanks again. Guns
