Power window regulator

I have to replace the drivers window regulator as one of the cables broke. Any watchouts to pay attention to? Anybody else having problems with the power windows? This is a '99 1500 4x4.

Re: Power window regulator

I have had to replace both driver and passenger side window regulators and pulley system. You will have to buy the whole thing it is not sold seperate as far as I seen when buying mine. Changing them out was not a problem less then a hour a side or about 3 beers.

I found it quite funny though when I went to the local dealer and asked them if there was a problem with these or a recall. They said NO but they had them in stock. There is no after market part availabe but I have seen them on online auction sites for a good price.

Easy to fix but expensive.

Hope this helps

Re: Re: Power window regulator

Got it done last night. Wasn't too bad. Actually there is aftermarket parts now. I got one locally for $145. Wish I had seen the thread Powerdrill mentioned above, the I-net site he mentioned have them for $100, although I didn't look to see what they charged to ship. Either way it beats the $225 Chevy gets. OK next problem... anyone know how to adjust the CD drive in the console, skips badly and running one of the cleaner discs several times made no difference.

2002 Chevy Avalanche

Hi,

I see this is an old thread, but I just bought a 2002 Chevy Avalanche 1500 4x4 and the driver side front regulator cable broke. I can get a new one, but lack the proper diagrams and instructions for replacing it. Anyone have diagrams, instructions and a good recommendation for an overall repair manual for my Avalanche?

Thanks,
Kyle.
