Unhappy 1994 Grand Am - Engin Light comes on when speed goes below 100K

Engine light comes on ONLY when my speed goes under 100KM.

City driving no problem. only on the HWY when my speed goes over 100Km no Light, after slowing under 100Km light comes on.

it may be a tcc solenoid going bad. IT may be sticking on when it's supposed to disengage causing your light to come on. have someone pull the codes and see what the computer is telling you.

It is in the trans valve body. On Grand am's, due to clearance issues, you normally have to drop the trans to change it. You can test it by unplugging it. the plug is under the air intakeon teh drivers side, near where the trans and engine hook together. It's a square plug with 4 wires. IF you unhook the plug, it will not allow the TCC to lock, so if the problem doesn't occur with it unhooked, you know that is the problem.
