Re: 95 Lebaron no reverse

drain the trans fluid, if pieces fall out when you drop the pan, or there are a large amount of metal shavings in the pan then it is time for a rebuild or conversion to manual, if none of the above the you have a stuck valve or servo, if that is the case refill with tarns fluid and trans flush may free it, may need to pull it out and clean it, not as hard as it sounds, get a book on automatics

Re: 95 Lebaron no reverse

Hey rwood13,

Doesn't that trans model have a low-reverse band? Great suggestion to check the fluid level first. I would certainly check that and the condition of the fluid first thing. If those two check out fine. Then what? Maybe pull the pan check and see if you might not have a band strut or two laying in the pan. Maybe even a snap ring from an internal servo assembly. Other then that, if nothing found. Guess I'd have to try cranking down on the band a touch. Making an adjustment. Now Sfrid073 never mentioned if they were having any kinds of problem with 3rd gear? If it's major internal failure, I have no doubt that will be next. Since those same set of clutches are applied both in reverse and third gear.
