?flowmaster or gibson?

i have a 2004 silverado, 4.3L V6 and i was wondering what you guys think would be the best exhaust system for my car... dual flowmasters or dual gibsons? which setup would be louder, and which would give me the most increase in overall horsepower? any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Re: ?flowmaster or gibson?

Flowmasters will be louder. I've never heard Gibson, but I've been told they sound good and produce power. Flowmasters are just kinda loud, but still make an increase in power. I want something not quite so loud on mine. I have a 40 series.

Re: ?flowmaster or gibson?

I have Gibson Extreme Duals on my 4.8. I like the gibsons because they dont produce as much sound in the cab as apposed to flowmasters. On almost every thread on this topic guys always complain about their flowmasters bein too loud in the cab. But dont get me wrong.... gibsons are still loud but only at the end of the pipe where it belongs. I also feel that gibson mufflers add a bit more power than flowmasters. If you put on a cold air intake they sound even better.

Re: ?flowmaster or gibson?

I think I'mswitching to Gibson here sooner or later. I've heard nothing but good things about them. I want a full cat-back system w/headers.

I just put a set of gibsons on my 2000 last sat. It had flowmasters on it. I agree with nigel, It is much quieter in the cab but sounds great from outside. Didn't notice any power differance though.
