the evolution.....*Contest Entry*

Soo...i resized the pictures, got them all set to go...its a mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8. anyways....i completly built the engine bay, as you can see from the pictures, i moved the engine alittle to the right, and raised it about an eighth of an inch, added the intake/turbo manifold, exhaust header with external dump valve...i even added a GReddy BOV for good measure.....umm....im sure you can see the turbo with the intake and filter. from the opening in the hood, the dump valve sits through the opening and pops out a bit over the hood, and you can also see the filter, giving the car a really mean look. also from the pictures you can see the beginning stages of fabricating my hood scoop, im mostly working on the exterior right now. plans right now include:

- roll cage
- a harness bar (i havent seen this done...so i figured i would step the game up alittle for the contest)
- lambo doors
- new sub housing for the trunk
- OEM style Evo 8 wing

thats it for right now....ill get more ideas as i come up with em. i am fabricating the roll cage/harness bar/lambo hinges out of some steel tubes i bought at the hobby store. so...more pictures soon!

Re: lets try this again.....*Contest Entry*

Should just run piping from the intercooler to the intake manifold on the cold side, then the hot side gets the the turbo treatment.

well if you look at the picture, you can see the intercooler plumbing comming up around the left side of the engine. i am planning on running it out to the left side of the intake manifold...i am trying to figure out how i can route it to the left side of the intake manifold AROUND where the hood hinges are gunna be. i could shave the hinges off and just set the hood on there for pictures and stuff....but i would like to retain the working funtion of the hood. do you have any suggestions on how to get it around the hood hinges w/o going over the engine? but i am also getting a bit confused...i need some more reference photos of the engine bay of an evo 8 which is what i am going to search for in a little bit. because in my haste, i brainfarted and forgot how to plumb the intercooler.

today i also used some model plaster to shave the holes where the posts for the wing went, and also put a big glob of it over the mold for my hood scoop. so when i get home (at my girlfriends house now...then heading to her doctor appointment) i can shave the plaster into the hood scoop with my dremel. pictures later as well.

some update pics

heres some update pics as to where i am at right now...

shaved trunk holes

top view of the scoop

side view

as you can see it still needs alittle bit of detail work, but i figured i would post some progress so you could see how it was comming along. i think the scoop really flows with the body at this point, because it has an aggressive WBK/bumpers on it, as well as a mean lookin engine and rims. and with the WBK, the scoop flows with the lines of the kit. as you can see, i also started to clean up the body a bit so that the paint can stick better. anyways....comment as nessasary

Re: lets try this again.....*Contest Entry*

you mean on that center picture where the lip looks off to the side? the reason it looks like that is because the picture wasnt taken dead center.
