NICE! I notice that's from Thomason. Well, I live in Eugene, so you should come down here and let me give it a test drive

Me and the lucky owner of the S2000 have already talked in another forum, bu tnew information is at hand.
I joked with my friend, since your right out of college, you probably had a really old car you parents got, then went and got a nice one. In Canada, an S2000 is 50 grands, a Z06 is 70000. Thats quite a step up from an 85 Volvo.
What I would do to be you.
I'm only 9 years younger, which means soon I will be chasing your ageing ass down. hahaha (that was just to comfort me, I'm so damn jealous, I want one)

PS, what exactly do you do in your job, how much and long was college/university.

PSS, I have heard of S2000 going for 12 grand over MSRP.
If there is still time, cancel the hardtop. I know where you can get one for much cheaper and be just as good. Its by King Motorsports (Mugen's distributor, which is to Honda like AMG is to Mercedes) is offering a Carbon Fibre hood which weighs 10 pounds less than Honda's (it is 34 vs. 44). It is 5000 bucks. They also have a fiberglass one very soon (maybe now), for $2500, $1300 less than Hondas.
They are also testing a 2.2 liter version of the engine, to boost low-end torque. Current mods add about 15 horsepower.
Even if you don't cancel, the hardtop will be worthwile.

The volvo pretty much sucked...but it was pretty much free...good price!! It was RWD and had serious oversteer...so that was fun.

I paid 32,875 for my S2000 and would have paid 48,850 for the Z06 about 16k difference. I paid exactly MSRP. True, they still go for higher, but not by huge amounts like they were. I shopped around....and found a good deal.
I don't want no carbon fibre hood for 5k...i can get a supercharger for that price. That will more then make up for my 10lbs!! The hardtop was all part of my financing. It also is made for my car and has matching VIN numbers.

It took me 5 1/2 years to graduate because I did 1 year on internships. This is pretty normal now. The degree I got is pretty much a 5 year degree anymore. They are adding classes every year. 5 years before I graduated many of my senior classes were only being offered as graduate or PHD classes. The industry is driving more education for Bachelor of Science degrees. It is getting crazy. I needed over 190 credits to graduate. That is about 17 credits a term (i went to school for 3 terms not counting summer....not semester school which is 2 terms) with summers off. I always worked during the summer. Then, i got into a special internship program only offered at OSU (oregon state) where you do 2 6 month paid internships (paid well too. i made between $15-19/hr for my internships). I have a CpE degree (Computer Engineering). Which, is related to Electrical engineering. I also have a minor in Computer Science: programming. I work here: www.nei.com
I am an ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) Designer. I would have never gotten this job if it had not been for my Verilog design experience at my internships. It usually takes a long time to get into ASIC design...I was lucky!! My company is a small startup, pre IPO. Check out the webpage. ASIC's are things like Intel Pentium, Network Processor, pretty much any computer chip designed for a specific purpose. Anyway, that's my story. Talk to you l8r.
PS: School was pretty cheap. i went to a state school and I had lots of scholarships. But, a lot of my friends did it with loans. I didn't have any loans....soo..presto...S2000 when i graduate!!!

I didn't get the computer engineering class this year, but I did for next year. I am currently doing well in CompSci, I have a mark in the 90's, and like it. Someday we may work together:silly2: haha.
Thats a lot of credeits, but from the sound of things, it was worth it. You keep hearing computer guys are in demand, what do you think personally. Oh, what was your starting wage? What is your house like? I'm just curious, plus when I graduate I dont want to live above a drycleaners with a 15 year old honda for 5 years, if you know what I mean.

the highschool i went too didn't even have computer classes. i had never heard of C before coming to college. If you are already taking that stuff...you have a leg up on everyone else. Computer guys are in demand, but it depends on how you define computer guys. The IT field is not in demand as much, but you can make a lot of money in it if you are good. But, that just takes a lot of time to get a lot of experience. Computer Engineer or Computer Science are good cuz you start out makeing quite a bit. I can't tell you my starting wage (which is the same i make now...as it has only been a few months), but let's put it this way...after paying rent, both cars, insurance, utilities all that crap...i still have over $1k to blow if I want too...or save it!!

I have an 1100 Square foot apartment with a roomate whom i went to school with. I will prolly rent for a while till I get married and the woman wants a house!! I like renting..low maintenance for me....I hate taking care of a lawn and stuff like that. I would like a dog though...so my roomate and I may be moving to house later...that his parents own...that would be pretty sweet. It is a huge house!! And we would probably get a good deal. I have a garage at my apartment to store the S2000...so that's good. It is a pretty nice place. We got 2 pools, very close to the city, but not in a really crowded area. Anyway, keep those grades up...it's important!!

the smartest thing you can do...is not get caught up in the BS of spending lots of money while in college. You will see the Frat Boys with the "nice" (i don't think civic's with fart pipes are nice...but some people seem to like them) cars crusin around. Just stay away from that crap. Save your money, work hard and when you graduate reward yourself. You will be much happier in the long run having very little debt when you graduate from college...let me tell ya!! Those same dorks who are pimpin around in college will be making your order at McDonalds when you graduate....trust me.... i've seen it happen!!

I am pretty sure I won't blow my money in college. But my parents are real education freaks, so they say they'll pay for tuition, books, etc. They will help out with residence. So if I get a decent job, I should leave with no debt and some money left over. My college car will be (I've decided what I want) either a mini, fiat 500, or perhaps a Triumph Spitfire Mk. III. All of them are slow, good on gas, cheap insurance, but FUN, which is what I want.

But your life seems pretty rossy.
