pedal update
Ok after going further back in the threads i find that this is probably a throttle body prob. specifically do i take the t/b off to clean and adjust that screw on the bottom or can this all be done on the engine? Thanks...JJ

There is a TSB that explains official chevy way to correct. I was able to correct the problem on my '01 by removing the rubber intake "hose" and liberally applying carb cleaner to the interior of the throttle body, especially where a carbon buildup can be seen, and doing the same to the exterior linkage and spring at the shaft. Has been good for two years. May need to be done again.

make sure you use throttle body cleaner and not carb cleaner. a few mechanics said that carb cleaner is to hard on throttle bodies.

Re: lubricating accelerator pedal 2000 silv
The Haynes manual warns not to use any cleaner that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), as it could damage the trottle body.
