key fob programming
i am after programming an addtional key fob to my Volvo S40 year 2000 car, any ideas how i can self program it !!!

hi - I am looking to programm a remote - I wonder if it will be the same procedure. It would be nice if someone had a dealer's manual- I am sure that that info is in there.

I bought two remotes on ebay for my 2001 s40. what the guy failed to bring to my attention is that according to a dealer you got to have a number that comes with a remote when you buy it new in order to be able to programm it in addition to secret number that comes with each vehicle which can be obtained from a dealer. So what the dealer told me to do with my remotes is to throw them away - they are useless without that long number. PLEASE DO NOT BUY VOLVO REMOTES ON EBAY UNLESS YOU'RE SERTAIN THAT YOU'RE DEALING WITH A REPUTABLE PERSON AND THAT YOU HAVE EVERYTHING IT WILL TAKE TO GET IT PROGRAMMED. AND DO NOT WAIST $30 BUCKS LIKE I DID . I HAVE TRIED EVERY POSSIBLE WAY GET MY MONEY BACK OR GET IN TOUCH WITH THAT GUY WITH NO LUCK. ONE THING THAT HURT ME IS I WAITED OVER 45 DAYS BEFORE I COMPLAINED AND NOW PAYPAL CAN'T HELP ME. I AM WRITING THIS IN PROTEST AGAINST THE EVEL THAT I MET. WELL AT LEAST MY KIDS NOW HAVE TWO REMOTES THEY CAN PLAY WITH...
 IF YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED - IT MIGHT BE BEST TO GO TO AN INDEPENDENT VOLVO SERVICE SHOP INSTEAD OF A DEALER??? MIHGT BE CHEAPER |
