Question 88 Honda Prelude Timing Belt. . . bad luck

I have a 88 Prelude "Prely"-yes, I named my car. My timing belt went on me goin up a hill yesterday morning. I was driving up, and the idle dropped like i took it and put it in neutral. Then it stalled and just makes a whining noise when u try starting it. I'm hoping it didn't blow my motor *i wish*, but we're gonna try to put a new belt in anywayz. Any1 know of where I can get instructions on putting it on? I've actually been having a lot of probs w/my Prelude, but i will NEVER get rid of it. Here's a list of what happend:
Totalled it 10 days after i got it b/c my brakes went out; fixed it
-Starter & ignition went 2 days after I got it fixed; fixed it
-ran it into a ditch b/c i hydroplaned-no damage
-clutch went
-some1 broke into it and trashed it when it was in the garage's posession-which they refuse to cover my car, also stole system, air pieces, modeling pix, busted my drivers seat, steering wheel, hood, trunk, etc.
-Now my timing belt went on me
But I love it to death. . . lol.

I have done many timing belts on hondas due to breakage and none of them had been damaged from it. Just Honda tough I guess. Here is an online Helms manual for our 88s. Good luck. If you run into problems let me know. You can email me

yeah interference engines..meaning the pistons actually touch the valves, so pray that you havent bent valves...thats a costly fix--new head...here's a site with a lot of info on timing belts...http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...es_timing.html
