LS-7 was also quite popular in a crate, and available through at least '96 (454, 460 HP) Easily identified by the solid lifter "rattle". Bad-ass!

I don't think the 454 SS pickups had the LS6 in them...somewhere i saw a horsepower rating of 260 for them...I never have seen the Torque rating...but i was surprised by the low horsepower...and i have seen that rating more than one place

I believe I have the engine you were inquiring about, here is what I have, 454 block casting # 14015445 4 bolt block, heads 6272990, crank 3867416, rods have 7/16" bolts, and pistons are trw forged dome pistons. I know it is a GM highperf crate engine with solid lifter cam. The block also has 10606xaa stamped above the timing cover. My question is can anybody tell me the compression ratio? I have found crate engines with 10.2:1-12.2:1. I am planning on putting this engine up for sale I just want as much accurate detail about it before I list it.
Thanks Ryan Folk |
