Question looking for a good site for subbox specs

im looking to build a custom box that will be recesed into the floor of my truck. i know that the volume needed is based on the sub can anyone direct me to a good site. thanks

jl 12 inch is whats in the truck dont quite know money comes then ill know. is there like a general site with formulas thanks

yes there are formulas, but the formulas are based on the T/S parameters of the specific sub, which means we need to know what the sub is before we can tell you anything. And saying that it's a 12" sub made by JL is useless, that could be 15 different subs, all with very different enclosure requirements.

are you planning on replacing this sub with something else, or just making a new enclosure for this one, or what?

Also, it will be very difficult to get the necessary airspace for a 12 in the spare tire well without using fiberglass. Fiberglass is definitely not for beginners either

well right now im not sure if i will be keeping the sub i dont exactlly know what the sub is it came with the truck i dont have a spare wheel well in my 84 chevy blazer what i want to do place the sub underneth the back passenger seat there seem to be a pretty good spot. this is kind of a side project. ill find out what the sub is soon but if i go through with this im going to want to get a better sub. thanks vince
