B16 in a 96 LS

what do you guys think of a JDM B16a2 motor being put into a 1996 integra LS? i mean dont get me wrong, id love to have a type r motor, but i can get a full b16 swap for only 2500, opposed to the 4500 for the b18c1/5. would this motor just drop right in or would it take some major fabrication? thanks for the help fellas.

It's a B-series, so it'll fit without fabrication, but your integra will seem kinda sluggish with the loss of torque, but I guess the ability to make power way higher makes up for it; however, your teg won't be much faster than a teg with a b18b if you leave the motor stock. I'd just suggest that you save up some more and get a b18c1 if you want vtec. You can find one for around $3500, check hmotorsonline.com and inlinefour.com

i would be interested, but i wont be doing any motor swap until february or march. i think i might just keep my LS motor and turbo it. i was just trying to go the cheap way out, but thought twice about it. but would a b18c1 just drop right in, use the b18b mounts and everything? how much would a usual shop charge for something like this?

It'll drop right in. You just have to wire up the vtec. Shit i'd pay 2k for a gsr motor anyday. Can't get any better deal than that

If your going to boost, it doesnt really matter what motor you boost with. Id stay with the b18b. Just do it right the first time around. Buy this for a peace of mind.

Re: B16 in a 96 LS

yes , stay with the b18b1 and just boost it, u will see more gain from a turbo kit than from a b18c1.
