Best Tranny for turbo b18b?
ive got a 95 ls auto and will be doing a tranny swap and turbo. i figure this is a good time to put in the best tranny for the job. my question is what is the best tranny for a turbo b18b? ive heard that the ls tranny is better for turbo cuz the longer gears let da turbo work better. however the gsr trannys got the shorter gears for da better acceleration. so which is better. oh yea my car will be daily driven, with the occasional stoplight race and a little track time on the weekends. so reliability is important, but i havent heard anything bad about either tranny as far as reliability goes so i dont think that will matter. thanks.

Well you can really go with whatever tranny you feel is best.I would recommend the LS tranny because of longer gearing and like you said being better for the turbo. You are planning to go 5 spd right??

yea 5 speed, i was thinkin ls simply cause its cheper and easier to find but ive heard there is a big difference between the acceleration of an ls and gsr tranny. but i think ill end up going with the ls.
