Looking for a Fiero

I live in North Carolina (about an hour out of charlotte) and im searching for a Fiero. Im looking for a GT 86-88. Id prefer the black with the silver along with the GT rims...but any color would work. Im 16 so if any one can estimate how bad the insurance will be on this...it would be appreciated!

Re: Looking for a Fiero

Because you're 16 the insurance companies will rape you no matter what, but Fiero rates are not bad compared to a lot of cars - My 86 Blazer 4cyl 4wd cost more to insure then my Fiero 2m4. The best source for a Fiero (or any car) with specific options is eBay, as long as you're willing to travel out of state you should find what you're looking for somewhere on the east coast.

74-79 Ramcharger or 100, slant or no motor - not interested in v8 - Overdrive 4 is a big plus, NO hopeless rust buckets!!!
3Rd gen F body floor pans/camaro door skin (L)

Why is it I see so many "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers on the backs of cars made in Japan or Korea??????

well currently i drive my dads Chrystler Sebring Convertible. Im guessing insurance for that is higher than a Fiero. Heres the catch with Ebay. My dad doesnt really know im looking at these cars. Im not sure he would be willing to drive out to another state with me to get one and even then id rather have it delivered on a truck to save miliage. Why im intrested in this car is because i really like the looks of it and they are affordable for just about anyone. Its pretty unique too....although my first day of actually looking for one i found one in the parking lot of my local community college.

Re: Looking for a Fiero

well im 17 with a 87 fiero gt and my insurance is only $125 and that was because i had a wreck in my other fiero (he hit me, but still went up) but at first i was paying 80 bucks for my 86 se v6...until i fixed the 87 =) ...as for looking for one...you could use autotrader.com...there you can put in how many miles you are willing to tavel...maybe cars.com...i dont know...

HOLY CRAP! How is your insurance less than $100 a month WITH a wreck!? Im ganna be 18 sept. 12 and i pay $180 a month for my 89 C1500 truck WITHOUT an accident! I HATE insurance companies. Just cuz its a V8 they jack the shit up like mad. My truck is slower than my dads civic, and most other cars. I have been able to keep up with Ford Probes and the occasional older cars, but its pretty slow...Im thinking of choping off meh MAN PART just so i can pay half of what I am now. Not like I even use it that often anymore since gf dumped meh lol. Im just sickend by the whole insurance "system" I pay an extra $90 a month just to have a dick...Equal rights my ass!

In the words of System of a Down...
"FUCK THE SYSTEM!"

Well its not really MADE for off roading but i do it anyways haha. I got it for a grand from my uncle its pretty sweet. Daily driver for me, getting gas just makes me sick but i love the girl so its worth it. Who needs a gf to spend money on when your truck drinks more than you do?

There is some logic there... the truck is twice the size and weight of a Fiero, and in an accident will do WAY more damage then a Fiero would. That makes you a higher liability. Plus we haven't really talked about coverage. If your truck has liability, collision and comp, you're getting a sweet deal. If it's just liability, it may be time to go find that cocky ass little gecko and rough him up a bit.

BTW Mac - I was once told that the Sebring convertible is a miserable money sucking badly engineered pile of s*it. The funny part? The guy that told me that was a Certified Chrysler 5-star Technitian. A new car might just be a good idea.

i belive your correct. Since ive started driving it (about 4-5 months ago.) ive needed

A. A new Top plus glass (about 1000$$)
B. Power Trunk button doesnt work anymore
C. Air Temp. Knob broke off (fixed with model glue )
D. New Motor for top (doesnt come up anymore...havent gotten an estimate on cost for it..)
E. Some of the lights on my air condition consle dont work without hitting the thing.
F. Rear "dome light" (its actually on the back of the center consle.) Finally started working after about 5 years, i just kept hitting it till it worked.
G. Carpet may need to be replaced (car leaked badly without the new top and soaked the drivers side numerous times)

like i said the main reason i want a new car is so i own it and not my father.
