Removing Cd player

My cd player is not getting power, (no radio either). I have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Orvis edition.

if i can remove it i have a replacement or the wires just might be loose.

It will be greatly appreciated for information on removing it.

Re: Removing Cd player

ok im not sure on the 95 but i have a 97 laredo.

on my jeep,
1) just pop off the wood grain trimm on the left and right of the steering wheel ( the trim around like the light switches and stuff) it just pops off.

2) then there will be like 6 or maybe more screws around the dash, some behind the trim you just poped off and some above the gauges and close to the stereo.

3) next the trim around the stereo and gauges is all one piece and that will come out.

4) there are 2 screws right around the stereo, remove them and the stereo is free!

Hope this helps

Re: Removing Cd player

I have a 95 limited. there are 2 5-star screws up next to the stereo holding in the fake wood panel, a coupe down by the ashtray. you may need to pop off the stereo volume knob to get the trim off. Last time I also used a butter knife to gently help the top off as there is a recessed knob that points up into the dash just in the center of the stereo. once that is off, 2 bolts about 9mm or so and out she goes...(yes, i know speaking in mm is wierd regarding a jeep)
