sounddomain.com

i was wondering if any of you guys go on there or whatever. Do these guys know what they are talking about? First a bunch of them were talkin shit about ed even though many of them have never ordered or used anything from ed. Then a bunch of them were talkin shit about the bx1500d sayin it only gives out 1300 watts because a guy did one test on a broken one. im not trying to offend people that are on sounddomain, i just think they are stubborn and ignorant. maybe im just talkin about a few people though......

does anyone know for a fact, not counting a bench test on a previously broken one, that the hifonics bx1500d is less than 1500 watts?

sounddomain is one of those forums that all the other ones make fun of. Don't listen to anything said on there

Re: sounddomain.com

I got frustrated with 'em because a lot of new people fill up the threads asking the same question over and over instead of first doing a search to see if their question is already answered...

Installed a hifonics brutus 1500 on an infinity kappa perfect DVC 12 this weekend in a 01 F150. Its running at 2ohm (1000w) and it pushes the infinity 12 quiet hard.

the reason that they were bashing ED is because they don't get along with the president/ceo/owner(or whatever he is), and they trash a quality product because of personal problems.

some people on there do know what they are talking about, but there are way to many people on there to try and determine who does and who doesn't.

Re: sounddomain.com

The BX1500d DOES NOT put out 1500rms at 12.5 volts. It's rated at 14.4 volts so it puts out 1500rms at 14.4 volts. The test was done at 12.5 volts and it put out 1173 i believe. most systems will run well about 12.5 usually 13.8-14.4.

wow, i didnt know that. why would they test it 14.4 if almost everyone has a 12.5. mine is a 12.5 too, but the charging voltage is 14.1 (what a coicidence that i just got a battery load test done today). isnt 14.1 pretty close. im pretty sure ill be getting more than 1173, right?

Re: sounddomain.com

well before u start ur car u should see like 12.3-12.5 once u start ur car it'll go up.. like when i start my car it changes to like 13.8 or 14.3 right away so if i had the bx1500d id prolly be getting 14XX watts rms

Re: sounddomain.com

most low quality amps (not saying hifonics is low quality at all, accually one of the highest quality I'v used/seen) are rated at a voltage that is way more than a car can put out. They bump up the voltage while spraying coolent on the amp and playing in very short single note burts. Thats how alot of these cheep amps boast ratings of like 2500w and sell for $100.

Re: sounddomain.com

It doesn't matter if it puts out 1200 and 1500 when your talkin that many watts 300 is not a big difference.....barely audible....plus for that price your not getting better end of story.
