our olds acheiva
We have a 1994 olds acheiva, nothing but trouble since we bought it, spent 1800 bucks for cracked head, heard it was known for head gaskets going. Now the engine ticks, any ideas? oil pump? or still bad engine? Also had heater core replaced. we would like to fix it up for our son, is it worth it 115,000 miles? need good advice thanks

good car.
i own a 1993 oldsmobile achieva, when i first got it, it had 64,000 miles on it (about a year or so ago.) i haven't had any problems with mine, except for a few electrical shorts caused by broken wires. the car now has 76k miles on it, and it hasn't needed any work except normal maintenace.
the engine ticking, and i assume you mean a knocking sound, could be caused by old spark plugs, improperly gapped plugs, or a bad crankshaft sensor. Does the knocking occur on acceleration or deceleration? or is it just constant? |
