I have a 2000 3232i with 62,000 miles. I put the car in reverse the other day-heard a clang and now I have no reverse in the car. Local transmission shop says the "reverse band" is shot. He did not offer to do the work; said only BMW could do it and the repair job is $3,000!!!
Has anyone ever heard of such a thing breaking at 62,000 miles. Thanks for the help. |

Happened just like you said. No warning signs. Just lost reverse.
