Pass Window Regulator Plastic Piece Broken
I have a 2000 LS. Last week the window rolled half way up and then stopped. I can hear the motor - so i took the door apart to find a small white plastic piece that holds the cable to the piece that the window sets in was broke. Any ideas on where to get a new piece??? Do i have to replace the entire regulator and moter because of this small broken white plastic piece?>

common TSB to fix - they redesigned new regulators in 2nd half of 01.
Go to the dealer.

Re: Pass Window Regulator Plastic Piece Broken
You'll have to look at the dealer's part books. Not sure how far down the assembly BOM goes. My gut says You'll be lucky to find a P/N for that little piece.
Good luck!

Re: Pass Window Regulator Plastic Piece Broken
Do these plastic pieces come with a new regulator kit? Mine are broken and the cable has slipped off the gears.

They still won't sell me just the plastic piece. I really don't want to pay $225 (parts only) because of a stinkin 25 cent block of plastic! Anybody know of anybody anywhere that will sell a piece like this? Or perhaps someone has some advice on how to bolt the cable directly to the window mount?
Any help would be great, thanks..... |

Re: Pass Window Regulator Plastic Piece Broken
I have notice that window regulators plegged all car types,we were
looking for root cause! When opening + closeing windows make sure they are all the way up or down befor slamming the door! The cable on the plastic door regulator will bounce and will bind up in the window! If it is 1/2 way down. Than the electric window motor will win,and something is going to break. MCGIVER

Re: Pass Window Regulator Plastic Piece Broken
The regulator really isn't bad to change. After your first one, it will probably only take about 30 minutes to do subsequent ones.
It's essentially: -Lower window a bit more than halfway -Remove door panel -Remove door speaker -Remove door vapor/water shield -Remove 4 black 10mm (?) nuts holding window regulator to stamped steel inner door panel and push threaded studs loose from steel panel -Remove 4 "brass" bolts holding stamped steel panel from door frame and tilt steel panel away from door -Loosen nuts holding pads onto window glass -Remove window glass from door and safely store -Remove window regulator assembly from door -Install new assembly -Reverse procedure. There may be some wire harnesses that need to be released from the steel door panel, etc., but these are the basic steps. The list actually makes it look harder than it really is. -Rod |

Re: Pass Window Regulator Plastic Piece Broken
I think Burt did it!
He is a Technican that works for LS dealership part time, and trying to keep your wife happy. Miss Piggy is mad, because he never fixes her car. MCGIVER |
