Angry 90 Cutlass International Brake Problems

My 1990 Cutlass Supreme International is a pain with brake problems. It has a first generation ABS system on it. I have replaced the pump and a couple of other parts but it appears to be getting an electrical overload. Sometimes when you turn the engine off the pump motor for the ABS continues to run. If you tap on the pump motor it stops. Currently I have spent more on the brakes than what I paid for the car. Any ideas or has anyone else had problems with the brakes on these cars?

These brakes are the worst ever invented. I guess gm gave up on the preasurized system after 3 years And now use a vacume system . i've had to have work on the motor twice; now the rear master brake seal has gone. IN my city of about 300,000 NO one will even look At replaceing the seal(which i bought from parts re-manufactuerer). I called the abs system manufacturer and all they sAy is go to the dealer; go to the dealer and they say replace with a remanufactured one for $2000. sorry, cant help but empathise with you. One of the worst car mistakes ive ever made was to buy this car.

Re: 90 Cutlass International Brake Problems

That should be JA1 brakes so pull off all the abs stuff off and use ciera s lines, calipers, master cylinder and kiss your problems goodbye.
