Fuel Pump Issues 1991 Honda Accord
Hello all,
My Honda won't start. It doesn't even turn over. Here's the weird part: whenever I get it towed somewhere, it starts up. What the heck is going on? I mean this has happened 3 times in the last 2 months. The same problem was happening last year and I had a fuel pump relay replaced (sorry I can't be more specific) and then I had the whole fuel pump replaced--ouch. That seemed to cure the problem for a while, but..... But now, the not starting problems have come back. A couple of facts: 1) I don't let my gas tank get really empty as I think that's probably bad for fuel pumps 2) Car has 167k miles on it 3) Just had a distributor replaced on it 4) When it runs, my Honda runs awesome, still gets 40mpg highway, the whole 9 yards. If anyone could clue me in to some ninja secret regarding what's going on with not-starting thing, I'd be forever greatful. This has been a real head scratcher with several mechanics in town--so kudos to anyone who can crack this "case". Cheers! |

if your having that problem, maybe your ignitor and ignition switch have burnt up. my honda did the same thing. did you ever notice a burning smell coming from the vents in the past? have them check out the starter as well but im pretty sure its that ignitor.
