holes in trunk lid

my friend's 240 came without a wing but the holes, where the wing was are still there, there are either 6 or 8 holes about the size of a quarter. I was wondering what we need to do in order to fill the holes, the back was already sanded down but we dont know if we need to putty it or fiberglass the holes. plz help

I just replaced the whole hatch with one that didnt have holes. You can use fiberglass from the back, as support. then use some fiberglass filler on the top to smooth it out.

dude this sound gedow but plug the them with clips from insid of the car. the clips are what keeps the plastic parts together. they look like mushroums with a clip at the end they look ugly but u can wash u r car till u get them fiber glassed.

GET them fiber glassed dough. the option i gave u is only temp because they will raddel and alow water to get is after a long exposer!!

I really ghettoed mine up. I cut out little squares of aluminum and used red RTV silicone sealant to glue the aluminum to the bottom side of the trunk. Its hard to notice from 20 feet but you can see it if you get close. Temporary for sure, but I would rather finish my turbo kit than fix the hatch.

there are 6 to 8 quarter sized holes from the wing?????? i have 4 screw holes. i just leave mine show for now. i dont see why those wholes are so damn big.

Yea. Four of the holes are indeed screws, but the other four are plastic rivets. They really suck but so does the spoiler.

thanks for the advice but is there any sort of putty that we can use to fill the holes as a permanenet fix. we are gonna get the car painted in two weeks soooooo he wants the holes filled, for good. And yes there are 8 quarter sized holes i checked it out last night.......after ripping our friends mustang GT

the real way to do it would be to weild in some metal and then grind the weilds smooth around the patch... like new money

but the quick easy way is to use fiberglass. Just rough up the back side of the holes. Then put some fiberglass matting with the Bondo glass stuff on top of it. Then let it set for a while. Smooth out the outside and add more Bondo glass from the outside if needed, take your time and make it smooth. Yes, metal is the best way, but not all of us have the time, experience, and resources to do that.

Probably some Gorilla hair. It is basically bondo with fiberglass strands in it. Tack weld some metal plates behind the holes, fill the holes with Gorilla Hair, sand smooth, then repaint. This stuff lasts longer than regular bondo and doesn't bubble up and discolor as quickly. I don't know how long it lasts, but probably pretty long.

oh man ya'll make me feel even more ghetto i jus put some black electric tape over my holes u can't see it from like 10 feet back cuz my car is dark blue but it still gets the job don't till i can fiberglass mine

haha, i just left the spoiler on!!! i'm spending money on my drivetrain before my looks now.. but if you do have holes, then yeah, you DO have more than a couple of options.. and the best ones are right above.. but if you're gonna get another spoiler then don't spend the money on fixing everything cause you never know, you might be able to use the same holes...

man spoiler was craked and rust was in it??? and the whole thing was bent out of shape + it had water in it??? ( thats when i just got it) befor i even drove it, i yanked the WING out!! so i have those nice openingz. they keep the car smelling fresh, due to there powerfull circulatory smell exchange between the car and the inviroment!

It looks better without the the wing i find, because the wing was pretty dirt anyways, so this gorilla hair???..... is it good stuff? because it will get painted and i dont want the paint to bubble and crack.
