Re: hard to start

I Think Its Time For You To Give That Thing A Tune Up. Most Important Is Spark Plugs, Distributor Cap And Rotor. They Are Probably So Worn It Is Drastically Changing Your Timing. Pretty Soon The Vehicle Will Not Start Anymore. Replaced Them.

Re: hard to start

check your fuel pump and filter. excessive cranking means a failing pump or a clogged fuel filter. its probably a mechanical fuel pump located on the passenger front side of the block. check its flow rating.

Re: hard to start

Fuel filter needs replacing and it is time to get your vehicle's timing checked and properly adjusted.

Re: hard to start

ok i replaced the fuel filter, checked all the gaps, checked the wires again and checked the timing and the timing was at like 20 degres advanced i think and it says to put it at 10 so i put it at 10 and now it doesnt have as much power and it still has a hesitation but i think its hesitating when the secondary opens on the carb but it also stumbles a bit at lower rmps then it will rev but i think it does it at a sertin rpm and when the secondary opens does anybody have anymore ideas

Re: hard to start

Weird, I never knew any truck that had the timing on the shroud.

Can anyone else reference this for me?

Fireplug?

Re: hard to start

Ok, is there a timing wire you have to disconnect while you are timing the vehicle?
