Remote on '93 Park Ave Ultra not working

I stop using my remote for awhile and now it doesn't work at all. I have new batteries in it. How can I get the remote to start back working? Thanks.

Have you been using a different remote, or none at all?

The car has a "rolling code" This is a list of 250 codes stored in the VATS module, that every time the remote is clicked, it rolls the code, as a security feature. The vats system can remember a 250 "use" old code, like if you had 2 remotes, and used one 249 times, the other will still work, but upon thw 250th use, the second remote is timed out, and must be reprogrammed.

No, I haven't used any remote for about 6 months. At first I thought it was the batteries, then I thought because I had an alternator replaced, it may have caused the problem.

Alternator won't affect it. Not sure much past this, unless the 250 rolling code applies to 250 startups. Look in the forum here for keyless entry programming procedures, and try that.
